Vintage Fisher Price Little People #2500 Mainstreet COMPLETE/NR MINT-MINT with all 7 Pcs. of MAIL! (MORE PHOTOS BELOW)

Here is a WONDERFUL Fisher Price Mainstreet (#2500) for your inspection. Manufactured between 1986-89, this set is 100% COMPLETE and in NEAR MINT-MINT condition! The play set contains all of its original accessories including the RARE 7 pieces of mail! NOTE:  I took these photos a couple of months ago and I hadn't yet acquired the #6 Barber Shop piece of mail.  YOU WILL BE RECEIVING ALL 7 pcs. of mail even though it's not in my photos.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

The play base consists of two levels, along with a backdrop, depicting the various shops and city services available in small town. The levels are connected by two blue driving ramps.

The EXTERIOR lithos are all intact with no stains, tears, rubs, edgewear, soiling, or marks being discerned. After closely scrutinizing this piece, I can only find the following imperfections:

1. Three small bubbles on the Fire House litho; two of these are @ 1/4" L x 1/16" W and the other is 1/8" L x 1/16" W; and

2. One, 1/2" L x 1/16" W bubble on the Ice Cream litho; this is virtually invisible. 3. Approximately 15 bubbles, ranging in size from 1/16" L x 1/16" W to 3/4" L x 1/4" W, on the back stop Main Street pull up back drop; the largest bubbles are located on the Fisher Price Main Street banner and across the puppy in the Pet Store window; the rest of the bubbles are scattered in various locations and you literally have to hold the piece within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light to appreciate these bubbles.

That's IT! These EXTERIOR lithos are GLORIOUS with rich, full bodied colors and whimsical graphics! I would rate them as being in NEAR MINT - MINT condition.

The INTERIOR lithos are similarly impressive. After tilting this base every which way, I can find ABSOLUTELY NO IMPERFECTIONS!!!! There are no stray marks, stains, bubbles, creases, bowing, rubs, fading etc. anywhere on these INTERIOR lithos. These lithos are as "good as it gets" (MINT).

The upper level litho exhibits approximately 15 bubbles, ranging in size from 1/16" L x 1/16" W to 3/4" L x 1/4" W; the largest bubbles are located on the Fisher Price Main Street banner and across the puppy in the Pet Store window; the rest of the bubbles are scattered in various locations and you literally have to hold the piece within 3" of your eyes and rotate it in the light to appreciate these bubbles. THESE BUBBLES DEFINITELY DO NOT JUMP OUT AT YOU OR DETRACT FROM THE OVERALL APPEARANCE OF THIS SET. The upper level litho is free of any edge wear, fading, stray marks, stains, creases, and rubs. In my opinion, this upper level litho is in EXC++-condition.

All moving pieces work as designed (all doors open and close, as does the man hole cover to the fire station). The fire station alarm bell rings, the Ice Cream Parlor's front gate opens and closes when appropriate, and the Bank Teller's window easily operates when the yellow button is pushed.

Other than some light soiling, the plastic surfaces are in remarkable condition (NEAR MINT- MINT). The plastic surfaces are vivid in color and devoid of any breaks, chips, cracks, repairs, abrasions, or discolorations.

The blue ramps are in NEAR MINT-MINT condition.

This DELIGHTFUL set contains a myriad of wonderful accessories. They include:

1 HTF small firetruck with working extension ladder (EXC+++-NEAR MINT--light surface scratching where ladder swivels);

1 mail truck with open sunroof (NEAR MINT--light fading on "MAIL" letters on right side of truck; also a tad amount of rust on wheel hubs; hopefully, I will be able to alleviate this with a generous application of Naval Jelly);

1 VHTF all yellow taxi (MINTY MINT);

1 VHTF working traffic light (MINTY MINT--ABSOLUTELY NO CHEWS anywhere on this piece!!!!);

1 yellow telephone booth (MINT);

1 yellow parking meter (MINTY MINT);

1 mailbox (NEAR MINT-MINT--few light surface scratches);

1 red fire hydrant (MINTY MINT);

1 red stop sign (EXC++-NEAR MINT--light scuffs on and a few "nibbles" on the top edge of the sign);

1 RARE barricade (EXC+++-NEAR MINT--minor edge wear to black trim);

and 7 RARE pieces of MAIL! These consist of the following:

#1 Bank (MINT);

#2 Market (NEAR MINT--some light surface scratches);

#3 Fire House (EXC++--light surface scratches and a couple of teeth marks);

#4 Ice Cream Parlor (EXC++-NEAR MINT-light surface scratching; letters have not been affected);

#5 Post Office (MINT);

#6 Barber (EXC++-NEAR MINT--light surface scratches);

#7 Pet Shop (VG+++---generalized surface scratching; light nibbles).

This offering also contains 5 ALL PLASTIC figures originally associated with this playset. They are:

1 HTF green bodied grocer with white molded hair, glasses, and apron (MINT);

1 short, blue bodied mailman with cap (VG++-EXC--some scratches on top of cap; couple of indentations, probably from a child's tooth, on side of hat and right cheek; some roughness around middle and bottom of piece);

1 HTF fireman with white hat and arms and smile (EXC--couple of indentations on front of hat; don't believe that these are due to a child's tooth; slight reddish cast to left hand; may be remnants of residual red mark);

1 VHTF coral bodied Mom with blonde pony (NEAR MINT); and

1 HTF short, green bodied girl with blonde scrulped hair (MINTY MINT).

This is an WONDERFUL set---one sure to delight an avid Fisher Price Collector or some lucky child!

I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this base, ramps, and all of its accessories before forwarding it on to its new owners. I use a variety of cleaning products (e.g. Dawn, Goo Gone, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Crayon Away, Soft Scrub etc.) along with toothpicks, a child's toothbrush, a child's paintbrush etc.) to clean every nook and cranny of each playset. I spend a MINIMUM of 1 - 1 1/2 hours cleaning each VINTAGE Fisher Price playset I sell (except for the ones in MY ROUGH ROOM). You can count on not having to do anything but open the package when it arrives.

NOTE: THIS VINTAGE FISHER PRICE PLAYSET IS NOT PART OF THE RECENT FP RECALL FOR TOYS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA. THIS VINTAGE TOY WAS PRODUCED IN THE GOOD OLD U.S.A. (EAST AURORA, NY).

DUE TO SOME SMALL PARTS, THIS PLAYSET SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN TO CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OF AGE OR TO THOSE CHILDREN WHO ARE STILL MOUTHING THEIR TOYS. ADULT SUPERVISION IS SUGGESTED UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.
