(4) Four Antique Black & White Snapshot Photographs. All depict Moses Pike Grout, including one with him sawing a log with Marhall Newton and two others with dogs, a raccoon, and raccoon skins. The photos with dogs and raccoons do not have written attributes on them, but we can positively identify him from other images in the collection (sold separately). Moses Pike Grout was born August 26, 1874 in Newfane, Vermont. He was the son of Joel Grout (1842-1921) and Martha Jane Pike (1842-1911). He was married to Della F. Grout (his first cousin, the daughter of John A. Grout, 1875-1923 and Adelaide Raynor, 1843-1921). Moses and his wife owned a farm in Townshend, Vermont. Their children included Kenneth Grout (1907-2002) and Stanley Grout (born 1913). The second wife of Moses was Maud Butler (1879-1950). The record seems to indicate they were divorced and she married his brother Leon Grout. Her children from the marriage with Leon included Leon Everett Grout (born 1920), Donald Edgar Grout (1910-1960), Glendon Roger Grout (1913-1985), and Muriel Maud Grout (1904-1991). Moses Pike Grout died in 1961. Condition: These are original snapshots, not a copy or reproduction. They are in very good condition, except the larger image of him standing alone in the forest has some chipping in the lower left corner.
