SCARF / HOODIE - FOUTS - GILKES 'In the halcyon days of the New York City fashion world of the 60s and 70s, designer clothes created by Fouts-Gilkes were in the windows of Bloomingdales in high-end Madison Avenue boutiques and on the cover of Vogue magazine... They designed and manufactured costumes for such performers as Katherine Ross, Nina Simone and Lesley Ann Warren, while specializing in wedding ensembles that ran to $10,000 for the bride and her entourage. Joseph and Louise Fouts eventually left Grand Street in Lower Manhattan and bought two abandoned stores and two acres in the Sullivan County hamlet of Mountaindale, where they carried on designing and working...' Estate find, Mountaindale NY, as noted, above... It's a Fouts - Gilkes original, and an unsual item, too... Basically, it's a scarf / hoodie, in vivid red and white stripes, possibly 100% wool. In very good, lightly used condition, and still with plenty of life left in it... Compare the dimensions given below and compare them to a shirt you know to be a good fit that you already own. From one end to the other it measures 82" long, with the 'hoodie' at the mid-point. Pictures uploaded, check 'em out.
