Carlos Gardel (1890-1935) was the first genuine "superstar" of 20th century Latin America.  Regarded as a genius at "tango singing", he earned an immense following on records, on the radio, in theaters and in movies, especially in Argerntina, Spain and Paris, and he was about to go to Hollywood at the time he died.  This was the first biography of him pubished in English.  Its availability has become scarce.  This is an unmarked, new-looking copy with barely any signs of wear.
