Dale Earnhardt Sr. (April 29, 1951 - February 18, 2001) was an American professional auto racing racing driver and team owner, best known for his involement in stock car racing for Nascar. He is regarded as one of the most significant drivers in Nascar history with his aggressive driving style which earned him the nicknames, "The Intimidator", "The Man in Black", "The Count of Monte Carlo", and "Mr. Restrictor Plate." In February 2001, Earnhardt was killed instantly after a collision with Sterling Marlin on the final lap of the Daytona 500.
