This is a simple, yet elegant large teardrop shaped Pearl or polished shell pendant that was a gift from a friend in Hawaii over 40 years ago either in the 1970s or early 1980s. The pendant is set in a silver cap. It is not marked, but it looks like Sterling Silver. It measures approximately 2 inches in length and 3/4 of an inch wide. It is 1/2 of an inch deep. It weighs .5 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 14.17 grams. I don't know what material the pendant is made from, but it is some type of pearl or shell. 

This is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged pictures. There are a few imperfections or dark spots, which are natural to the shell and part of the charm of the piece. I believe you can see clearly in the photos.

This drop pendant would make a great statement at the next Luau or Beach Party you attend. It is elegant enough to wear with that little black dress or to go casual with your favorite pair of jeans.
