This is an unusual and very large parrot brooch or pin. It is highly detailed and appears to be squawking with the beak open. I’m not sure what the silver tone base metal is, but it looks like antiqued pewter, I did not have it tested. It measures approximately 3 ¼ inches from the head to the end of the tail and 3 inches from the beak to the end of the wing. It is quite heavy weighs 1.00 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 28.35 grams. It is unsigned with no marks of any kind.
 
This parrot is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. It has a nice dark patina to it, a deep silver gray color. I did not try to polish it as I did not want to affect the finish or the patina. I will leave any polishing up to you. It fastens with a rollover safety catch. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.
 
This would be the ideal brooch for any bird lover. If your companion is a parrot this pin will be a conversation starter anywhere you go.
