THE DEATH OF GRASS
by John Christopher
Penguin (British), 1958
First Paperback Printing
Condition: Good+

Christopher's second novel is a classic (titled NO BLADE OF GRASS in the U.S.) concerning a threatened collapse of civilization when a virus begins killing the world's crops. Highly praised, it transcended the genre like George R. Stewart's EARTH ABIDES and J.G. Ballard's THE BURNING WORLD. First published in England in 1956, this was the first paperback appearance. Some spine end wear and wear along spine, light oover and page corner creases, some cover soiling, a few tiny page edge tears at corners, page tanning, but unmarked and securely bound, except at front and back covers, which have loosened just a bit. Still, an okay copy of Christopher's most desirable title.
