When the prince of the Ming dynasty leaves the palace to explore the underworld, the evil General Li invites Kao Chine Yen to help him overthrow the dynasty. When Kao refuses, General kills his whole family except for daughter Kao Nao Hsueh (Shih Szu). Seeking revenge, she must learn kung fu at the nearby temple. But the monks are reluctant to teach her until finally, touched by her sincerity, the Abbott takes her as his pupil.
