Synopsis: Peter Lorre stars as Janos Szaby, a kind, innocent immigrant to America. Just after he arrives, he's caught in a fire disfiguring his face. His hideous features make it impossible for him to get work. Driven by despair he is forced to turn to crime to live. He soon makes enough money to buy a very lifelike mask to hide his scars. A classic B-picture that shows Peter Lorre for the excellent actor he was!
