HISTORY OF LINCOLN WHEAT CENT(S) 1955-1958: The ever popular “Lincoln Wheat Penny” was first produced by the U.S. Mint in 1909. While the original edition pennies from 1909 can have significant collectable value other editions of the Lincoln penny can be highly desired by coin collectors as well. Obviously some mint years -and/or- variieties may be worth considerably more than others, while the minting location may also play a role in the value of a “LINCOLN WHEAT EAR PENNY”. In addition to the penny's mint year and edition, the coin's overall condition is important when it comes to determining it's value. A “S” mint mark found under the date of a Lincoln Wheat Penny indicates that the penny was minted by the “San Francisco Mint”. A “D” mint mark under the date indicates that the penny was minted in Denver while lack of a mint mark indicate that the penny was minted in Philadelphia.

ACQUISITION OF THE “1958 D SAN FRANCISCO LINCOLN WHEAT EAR CENT “S” MINT MARK. “CHAMPAGNE MINT ERROR COINS” has acquired a very special and rare commodity whereby in the following detailed synopsis the “1958 D San Francisco Wheat Ear Cent “S” Mint Mark” Commodity Coin is described in the foregoing auction.

HISTORY OF THE 1958 D SAN FRANCISCO LINCOLN WHEAT EAR CENT “S” MINT MARK. The Professional Coin Grading Service (“PCGS”) has been in existance for 30+ years and has graded and certified a combined total of over “2 BILLION COINS” by PCGS World Class Expert Graders renowned for their expertise as to authenciate, certify -and- grade numismatic coinage -and- mint error specimen(s). “Champagne Mint Error Coins” introduces again a previously graded -and- certified “1958 D Lincoln Wheat Ear Cent” with a weakstrike “S” Mint Mark that was submitted by the (“OWNER”) of Champagne Mint Error Coins on October 12,2011 for authentication in regards to the (“specimen”) being certified as a “1958 D SAN FRANCISCO LINCOLN WHEAT EAR CENT” during this time period (“2010-2011”). The (“OWNER”) of Champagne Mint Error Coin submit(s) the current information currently as to this (2nd Rare Opportunity) as to have the potential buyers to acquire this VERY RARE -and- SPECIAL (“AMERICAN COMMODITY”) in the foregoing auction as follows.

The (“SAN FRANCISCO MINT”) located in San Francisco, California opened it's new minting faculity in 1937. Beginning in 1955 circulating coinage from San Francisco Mint was “Suspended/Ended” for 13 years. There was no coinage that had the “S” mint mark on any American coinage ( Lincoln Penny, Jefferson Nickel, Washington Quarter -and- Roosevelt Dime, Half Dollars, etc.) during 1955 to 1967. The “San Francisco Mint” reassumed and continued striking circulating coinage with the “S” mint mark in 1968 forthgoing to 2018. The (“1958 D San Francisco Lincoln Wheat Ear Cent”) birth began as (“BLANK PLANCHET”) with a Weak-Strike “S” Mint Mark on the observe side of the
coin during the minting process at the San Francisco Mint located in San Francisco, CA. Since the government during this time frame (“1955-1967”) did not produce any “San Francisco Coinage” and thereafter due to government not wanting to waste the (“BLANK PLANCHETS”) from the San Francisco Minting faculity the “EMPTY PLANCHETS” was basically transfered from the “San Francisco Mint” to be redistributed to the other minting faculities (“DENVER -and- PHILADELPHIA”) Minting Faculities to continue production of the Lincoln Wheat Ear Cent 1955-1958 (“Blank Planchets) into more coinage from the “Denver” and “Philadelphia” minting faculities.

Hence the (“SPECIMEN”) identified within this (“AUCTION”) is (“ONE”) of the “Lincoln Cent Blank Planchet(s)” that was at the San Francisco minting faculitiy before beginning it's “LIFE” again at the (“DENVER MINT”) to be finially struck as the coin identified as a (“1958 D Lincoln Wheat Ear Cent”). Keep in mind that the 1st origin of this “Extradnatory -and- Incredible” specimen has a long story and a long journey to be told as the (“specimen”) shows a clearly defined (“S MINT MARK”) next to the right of the date “1958” (Please refer to the first 3 pictures in advertisement) in the attached photographs featured. Judge for yourself this extradnatory (“1958 D SAN FRANCISCO LINCOLN WHEAT CENT COMMODITY COIN”) by Champagne Mint Error Coins upon having acquiring this (“RARE SPECIMEN”) in 2010 by roll searching (2) 50 Cent Lincoln Cents that was acquired from the “BANK OF AMERICA” branch. Champagne Mint Error coins submitted the (“SPECIMEN”) to The Professional Coin Grading Service (“PCGS”) for evaluation and authencation during 2010-2011. The (“OWNER”) received the (“specimen”) from (“PCGS”) and contacted The Professional Coin Grading Service as to inquire about the (3) PCGS WORLD EXPERT(S) “Written Evaluation” of the (“coin”) the (“Owner”) was told the following exact words from the written evaluation from the (“PCGS”) 3 Renowned PCGS WORLD CLASS COIN GRADER(S) as follows:

PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER 1: Agreed. It is a “S” Mint Mark on the coin.

PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER 2: It looks like a “S” Mint Mark on the coin but I can't be certain. The grader's decision was “undecided”.

PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER 3: No. It is not a “S” Mint Mark.

Please keep in mind that there has to be (2) PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER(S) to “CERTIFY” and “AGREE” to the coin having the “S” Mint Mark, but due to the 2nd PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER'S Decision being “UNDECIDED” before submitting the (“Specimen”) to the 3rd PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER to render the final decision, on the (“Specimen”) the (“Specimen”) was not (“CERTIFIED”) by these events.

Chamapgne Mint Error Coins (“OWNER”) is of the latter as to “believe” what is present on the “specimen” and the fact that the PCGS WORLD CLASS GRADER 1 Decision to reflect the existence of the “S” MINT MARK which is characterized by the “Ball Serif” indicated on the “S” Mint Mark and the (“OWNER”) is confidant in identifying a “S” mint mark on any surface of the planchet when encountered with the assurance of the PCGS Grader No. 1 decision. As such please review the attached last 2 photographs carefully of the (“S” MINT MARK”) which is a (“WEAK STRIKE”) on the planchet. The 1st auction of this (“specimen”) during 2010 garnered 863 views and over 16 watchers within a 2 week online auction. But since this a wise investment for anyone's portifolio one such consider a final decision as to have this great (“AMERICAN COMMODITY”) to be apart of your diversified portifolio. I encourage any questions about the (“specimen”) to be fowarded to Bonanza.
