105 ausf Ds were produced, and some were used as command vehicles since they were no longer effective battle tanks. The burning T-34 was destryoed by the PzJag (38)t which, ironically, mounted the excellent 7.62 cm Russian antitank gun.
The PANZERKAMPFWAGEN (38)T was orginally a Czech tank of pre-WWII design, later adopted by the German Army, seeing service in the invasions of Poland and Russia. Production ended in 1942 when its armament was deemed inadequate.
Over 1400 were manufactured.
