Pulled of from working PC
In today's usage environment, processor speed alone is not enough to ensure
great experience. The advanced dual core Intel Pentium D 935 processor features
two 65nm processor cores each running at 3.2GHz with integrated 2MB L2 cache.
The cutting edge 65nm manufacturing process significantly reduces power
consumption and improves thermal performance. Users today have high expectations
for their PCs and want the most productivity and enjoyment from their PCs when
running multiple applications simultaneously.
The Intel dual-core processor delivers consumer value by providing
additional computing resources that expand the PC's capabilities and provide
platform-level advancements for consumers in the form of higher throughput and
simultaneous computing. Featuring Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology, Enhanced
Intel SpeedStep Technology and Execute Disable Bit, the Intel Pentium D 935
processor delivers outstanding desktop and workstation computing
experiences.
DUAL-CORE PROCESSING WITH 2X2MB L2 CACHE
Intel dual-core Pentium D 935 processors have two complete processor cores
in one physical package running at the same frequency. The cores share the same
interface with chipset and memory, but each core has its own set of registers
and cache for truly parallel computing. Each processor core has its own 2MB L2
Cache (4MB total) enabling improved overall system performance by allowing each
core to have faster access to larger amounts of the most often used area.
ENHANCED INTEL SPEEDSTEP TECHNOLOGY (EIST)
EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core
frequency to decrease average power consumption and average heat production.
Combined with existing power saving features, EIST may provide an excellent
balance between providing power when you need it and conserving power when you
don't.
SCALABILITY AND PERFORMANCE WITH INTEL EM64T
Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel EM64T) can improve performance
by allowing the system to address more than 4 GB of both virtual and physical
memory. Intel EM64T also provides support for 64 bit computing to help handle
the applications of tomorrow.
EXECUTE DISABLE BIT (EDB)
Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of
malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating
system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas in memory
where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm
attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution,
preventing damage or worm propagation.
