This type of helmet was especially popular during the Archaic period, the 8th or 6th century BC. From the 5th century on, people started to prefer the Thracian helmet that provided a better field of view. The Corinthian helmet was generally made of bronze and covered the whole head, while there was a small opening for the eyes and mouth.
