This unique vintage silver toned charm bracelet is a work of art all on it's own. It would have to be called a bracelet of the heroes of history. There are eleven (11) faux coin charms, each with a different picture and varying sizes. The largest coin is 1 1/2 inches in diameter, the smallest is just under 3/4 of an inch. The charms are attached to a double link textured chain that measures 8 inches in length. Coin charm bracelets were very popular in the 1950s and 1960s, this one is from the 1960s. This is a substantial and hefty bracelet. It weighs 3.1 ounces on my Postage Scale, which converts to 87.88 grams. Each coin is described below.

.(2 of these) The Decadrachm of Syracruse 400BC – a city state in Sicily under Greek domination is often described as the finest example of medallic art and the most beautiful coin of all times. It was issued only in small quantities to celebrate the total defeat of the Athenian Army. These coins bear the image of Arethusa or Persophone with dolphins on the front. The back of the coins have a 4 horse chariot, "Nike” goddess of victory above and captured booty of spears and shields.

.Medusa Head with Wings – Medusa was one of the three Gorgons. Their gaze turned men to stone. They had snakes for hair. (same on both sides)

.Shakespeare with the date he was born and died – 1564-1616 (same on both sides)

.Knight of the Crusades, cross on shield on chest, helmet on head. He is holding a sword in one hand and a lance in the other. This is the only charm that is an open cut. It does not have a back side, just the reverse of the front.

.Dragon Slayer on horseback. The Dragon Slayer is wearing a winged helmet and a cape. He is spearing a winged dragon with flames coming out of it's mouth. This has the same image on both sides.

.Two military gentlemen walking towards a woman sitting on a bench, She is wearing a hat with feathers and a long gown. Same image on both sides.

.A picture of a man wearing a large hat and a big round collar around his neck. Reminds me of a Spanish Nobleman, but I can't place the name. Same image on both sides.

.Smallest coin has a horse and rider, possibly a Roman Gladiator holding a two sided ax over his head.
.A Lion with a crown and vines. Same on both sides.

.The head of a man with a helmet, surrounded by a border of flowers. Looks like a bust of Don Quixote de La Mancha

This is in excellent vintage condition and would make a great addition to your collection of vintage charm bracelets. It is a great conversation starter. It would be perfect to dress up that casual pair of jeans.
