Setaria italica (Setaria italica Red Jewel) - Commonly known as Foxtail Millet or Red Bristle Grass, this annual millet can be grown from Setaria italica seeds, and it will make a stunning addition to the home landscape. Ornamental millet grass is lovely in the mixed border where the rich, reddish-brown foliage and brown, pendulous seed heads give a stunning display. Red Jewel millet is good for cutting and drying and works in nicely with flower arrangements. Annual millet is also very nutritious for birds, and if the seed heads are allowed to ripen, wildlife will be attracted to the landscape.
