THE GREEN AND BURNING TREE

by Eleanor Cameron

Atlantic-Little, Brown & Co., First Edition, 1969

Condition: Very Good+ in VG- dust jacket

This is a collection of critical essays on the writing and enjoyment of children's books.  Cameron was herself a writer of children's books, specializing in fantasy (which is the subject of the title essay).  377 pages, including a bibliography and index.  Minimal wear on the book, a missing corner on the pastedown, a short inscription on the ffep.  The jacket has a sun-darkened spine, some chips and tears on the spine ends and edges, but nothing serious.  A pretty nice copy of the first edition, which is scarce.
