At a recent session of creating with some painter friends, one of them set up a vase with artificial sunflowers as a still life. Looking through my stash, I found some suitably orange/yellow material, and opted to also do a still life myself, and Sunflowers is the result. The vase and table both came from the same piece of fabric, though it hadn't been my first selection for the table.
The dead leaves came from a different source than the leaves in the vase, but they balanced the other elements of the picture. The flowers themselves are only sewn down at their centers.
