Back in 2002 when you bought selected Nestle ice cream products, you got a neat surprise inside the box, a Topps baseball trading card.  There were 6 different player cards available depicting them in their 2001 season:  (#1) Barry Bonds, (#2) Chipper Jones, (#3) Mike Piazza, (#4) Alex Rodriguez, (#5) Sammy Sosa and (#6) Ichiro Suzuki.  I managed to get cards #1 thru #5, but never got the final card with Ichiro Suzuki in his rookie season.

The cards were produced in 2001, but were distributed in 2002 inside different Nestle ice cream product boxes.  The front of the card shows each player batting, while the reverse shows them in their respective fielding positions.  Each card is also numbered on the back and has a short bio and stats from 1999 thru 2001 along with career stats.  The card dimensions are 2.5" x 3.5" and are done on a glossy thick cardstock.

Each of the 5 cards originally came in a clear plastic wrapper, but I did take them out and discarded the wrapper back in 2002.  The cards were put in a ziplock bag, stored away for a number of years and just found recently in a box packed during a long distance move.  All 5 cards are in "like new" condition with no dings, dents, scratches or noticeable scuffs and no crimped or bent corners.

This neat little set was only looked at a handful of times before it was stored away, so it still looks like new and would make a nice addition to any trading card collection.  Time to part with it and let someone else enjoy it!
