DETAILS

The Ford radios manufactured by Delco are known for CD6 drive problems. Don't let a defective radio keep you from enjoying your vehicle. Get your replacement CD6 mechanism from ReplacementRadios. If you're in need of a drive for the Delco CD6 radio in your 2007-2008 Ford or Mercury vehicle because of CD Error messages, Bad Disc messages or basic load and eject problems, you've come to the right place. This is a brand new CD6 drive mechanism (mech).

This can ONLY be used in Delco manufactured Ford CD6 radios and your vehicle must also be on the application list above. This is NOT compatible with the Visteon or Pioneer manufactured Ford radios. We have provided a picture of the drive. It is in your best interest to pop the top off your radio and make sure this is the drive you have because returns are not accepted.

There is a version of this drive that looks similar but instead of a 1" oblong opening in the top left corner (as pictured), there is a smaller 1/2" square opening. You CANNOT use this drive in place of that version. In fact, if you check your radio, you will find it is not a Delco. You can also check to make sure the radio does not say Pioneer or Visteon on any of the stickers. Many Ford radios don't list the manufacturer but some do. Another indicator it is a Delco is an 8-digit numeric part number directly above the Ford number on the part sticker. Returns are not accepted so make sure you're ordering the right thing. Again, the best thing to do is pop the top off your radio and make sure you have a radio that takes this drive. Just because you have a vehicle on the application list does not mean your vehicle has a Delco radio. Ford used Pioneer and Visteon as well and those radios use different drives. And the Visteon version uses a very similar drive that is not interchangeable, as indicated in underlined red font in this ad.

This is NOT the same as the 2005-2006 version. This is also not compatible in Visteon or Pioneer manufactured radios. Returns are not accepted, so make sure you're ordering the right thing.

Instructions for installation or removal are not included. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this replacement or are not qualified to perform the replacement you should seek an electronics shop that will do it for you or ask us about sending it in for us to do it. We can tell you that you MUST disconnect the negative battery terminal (or remove the plugs from the back of the radio) and let it sit for at least 60 minutes BEFORE you attempt to do any work on the radio. Failure to do so can result in a short within the radio. We've had many reports of it from people who ignored this caution. Don't be one of them!!

There is an application list at the top of this ad but this drive is not guaranteed to be the right one for you just because your vehicle appears on the list. Ford used three radio manufacturers and all the parts were different for each. This drive was used in Delco radios. Radios with this drive were offered in some 2007-2008 Ford and Mercury vehicles. The drive was also in some 2009 vehicles but, as with the 07-08 vehicles, you will need to compare your drive to the one pictured before purchasing for a 2009. It will NOT work in the 2005-2006 radios. It will NOT work in Pioneer or Visteon manufactured radios.
