**I LOVE. plants that can be neglected and still thrive well!**......... **GROWN ON OUR FARM HERE IN TENNESSEE** Naranjilla has been cultivated for many hundreds of years and is an ancient Incan crop.............. Common Names: Lulo, Naranjilla....Solanum quitoense, known as naranjilla, "little orange") ............. In Ecuador and as lulo, from quechua in Colombia, is a subtropical perennial plant from northwestern South America........... Very nice and beautiful, very fuzzy, finger-friendly large-leafed tropical that bears edible fruit!............... Also as a common ingredient in sorbet, ice cream, sauces, jelly, or baked into pies, tarts and set desserts, and wines............. It is grown for its large cherry tomato sized fruit which are green and covered in trichomes when unripe............... The fruit turns yellow when ripe and the "fuzz" wipes easily off.............. The fruit can be eaten fresh but is most often used in drinks and desserts................. The taste is described as "the nectar of the gods", citrus taste that has hints of lime and rhubarb, very unique, very delicious............... Plants reached full maturity with ripening fruit at under one year from seed................... Grows fast....doubled its size in a month............. Regardless, awesome as an ornamental, with the massive purple spiny leaves, and not only that it's bloody delicious!................. Gets lots of attention this summer....................
