Do you need a safe, reliable way to back up your important computer files and take them off-site? Here's the solution, an external hard drive with a USB connection that you simply plug in, wait for Windows to detect it (no additional software necessary) and drag and drop your files. I don't know how this will work with Mac OS or Linux, so if you are a Mac or Linux user, do some research before purchase because I never used it with those operating systems.
You can create folders for different users and connect it to different computers. Search, copy, move, delete files...do everything that you normally do with an internal hard drive or flash drive.
Please note that this is not a self-contained external hard drive. Rather, it is an aluminum enclosure with an IDE cable that I installed a 160GB (149 on disk) IDE hard drive in. But it works every bit as well. Here is the information printed on the hard drive itself to identify it:
