"Matilda" is a children's comedy with some adult humor. It is directed by Danny DeVito. He also plays the role of Matilda's insensitive father. "Matilda" is about a misunderstood but intelligent little girl called Matilda who has some special talents. Her parents are uncaring and send her to a strict school. There, she meets the mean principle and the nice teacher. Before long, the child forms a friendship with the teacher. She also learns that she can move things with her mind. A fairy tale type of story, the children's comedy culminates in a scene where Matilda gets rid of the mean principle and helps the teacher. After chasing off the principle, the teacher adopts Matilda and improves the lives of all the other children a lot better. This movie is based on a Ronald Dahl book. The DVD has widescreen and full screen display formats. It also has Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and multilingual support.
