This is a gorgeous pair of vintage clip back earrings with smokey grey or black marquis shaped faceted rhinestones and round Aurora Borealis rhinestones. They could also be smokey gray black glass or crystal navettes, it is difficult to tell because of the enclosed backs. The mixed array of the black and the fire of the Aurora Borealis makes for a stunning pair of earrings. All the stones are prong set. The earrings are unsigned, but are extremely well made, they remind me of the Juliana jewelry. These are most likely from the 1950s or 1960s. They measure approximately 1 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide.
These are in nice vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged pictures. All of the stones sparkle and are full of color. The large center marquis stone is a smoky grey. If you look into the center stones with a magnifying lens you can see that some of the foil backing has flaked and there are spots in the rhinestones. I am pointing it out even though you would not know it was there if you did not have it magnified! I believe you can see if you look at the enlarged pictures. The clip backs are secure and work well. There is light wear and tarnishing to the finish on the clips and the earring backs.
These glamorous earrings would look perfect adorning your ears for any Holiday Party or Black Tie dressy occasion. They are real show stoppers. A great addition to your collection on vintage jewelry.
