Item description for Vintage Carved Horse Whistle Tail Wooden Wood Hand Painted Folk Art

This adorable little folk art horse has a whistle in the tail. I have seen a similar style that was from the Erzgebirge region of Germany. It also looks like horses you see made by the Scandinavian or Swedish artisans. The whistle works just fine. The base is approximately 5 ¾ inches long and 1 ¼ inches wide. The Horse measures approximately 4 ¾ inches long from nose to tail and is 3 ½ inches tall. The removable whistle tail is around 2 ½ inches long.

This horse is in great vintage condition as you can see by the many enlarged photographs. The whistle tail is detachable so it can be used without holding the horse. You could easily make it permanent with a little bit of super glue if you didn’t want to risk having it fall out or losing it. There is a small circle on the bottom of the base that was once where a label had been. The wood color has some variation on the back of the horse and the back of the base, it is not damaged. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the condition better than I can describe.

This collectible little horse would be a great addition to your whistle or horse figurine collection. It is a handcrafted one-of-a-kind piece of folk art that would look adorable on a child’s dresser or on a corner shelf as a decorative piece.
