Vintage D & C Limoges 2 Handled Cake Plate

Cabinet plate

This is a 10 1/2" plate used to cakes or cookies (desserts of any kind really) or by our grandmother's as "display peices" in their china closets to show off their pretty china.

It has no chips or cracks but some of the gilt (gold) trim is worn lightly. The pattern is lovely green, pink and brown leaves with pink flowers in between.  The mark on the back is dated by Kovels to Limoges in 1875 in France. (see their Porcelain and Pottery Marks book)  Just beautiful and ready to use!
