As a writer, George du Maurier is best known for two novels -- TRILBY and PETER IBBETSON, the latter first published in 1891. He was also a fine artist, as shown by more than 80 of his illustrations in this book. As indicated on the front cover of the scarce jacket, this edition celebrated the 100th anniversary of the publisher, Harper & Brothers. 418 pages, with other novels advertised on the jacket back. Two slightly bumped cover corners and some small lightly creased corners on moderately toned pages; else, fine copy with no writing or markings. The dust jacket has a few small edge chips and just a bit of other light wear, but overall it has held up surprisingly well over 100 years. This jacketed book is as nice an antiquarian copy of this title as you're likely to find.
An early printing of TRILBY is also available in this booth.
