Reproduction Comfort Bag made from original 1917 American Red Cross Pattern. These bags were made to send to the soldiers during WWI (Great War) and filled with "comfort items" such as soap, razor, playing cards, etc. It is light olive color with a natural color cotton cord. The inside flap is white. All are made of cotton, including the sewing thread. The snap button is metal.
The white flap inside is for attaching safety pins, buttons, etc. The last photo shows the sketch from the original 1917 pattern.
Bag measures about 12 inches long and 12 inches wide.
A list is included of items that were recommended to fill the bag with. THE BAG DOES NOT COME WITH ANY ITEMS. IT IS EMPTY.
