Charming wood figures of a girl with braids leading a lamb or sheep, perhaps representing Mary had a little lamb folk song. The figure of the girl pivots on her front foot, but I'm not certain if the figure was meant to be stationary as I can see that the rear foot was once glued down. The sheep is firmly fixed to the base and has a bell hanging from its neck. The arms on the girl do not move. Her braids are decorated with snippets of red grosgrain ribbon. The base is 9-5/8" x 3-3/8" x 3/4". The girl figure is about 6-3/4" tall above the base. There are no marks to indicated the maker. I do not know the age of the piece. Excellent condition. No cracks or gouges.
