This is a vintage pin back button for The Desert Bluegrass '83 Yucca Valley, CA.

Bluegrass is a common name given in America for grass of the Poa genus, the most famous being Kentucky Bluegrass. It is unclear when the term "bluegrass" was adopted to this form of music, probably in the late '50s . It was deried from the name of the seminal Blue Grass Boys band of 1939 with Bill Monroe as its leader so Bill Monroe is frequently referred to as "father of bluegrass."

Bluegrass music is a form of American roots music, influenced by the music of Appalchia, with mixed roots in Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and English traditional music, and later influenced by the music of African-Americans through incorporation of jazz elements.

Ballads such as "Pretty Saro", "Barbara Allen", "Cuckoo Bird", and House Carpenter", "The Two Sisters", "Leather Britches", "Pretty Polly", "Cubmerland Gap".
