Vintage Black & White Photograph. Official photo by Acme Newspictures Inc., New York Bureau. Caption on reverse side is dated March 27, 1942 and reads, "Indiana Farm. Eight miles south of Columbus, Ind. lies the comfortable farm home of Perry Thompson; one of the more than 6,000,000 U.S. farmers who are taking part in the Department of Agriculture's huge Food for Freedom production program. Thompson, who is 31, works his 500 acres with the help of one hired man. His wife, Ruth, takes care of the household tasks, tends the garden, feeds the chickens, and supervises the upbringing of their two children. The house at left was built in 1864, but three generations of Thompsons have taken good care of it and it's still in good condition." Measures approximately 7.25 x 9 including white border Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It is in very good condition. Comments:
