"Mailman's here!  Can I get the mail?"  Here is a FABULOUS find---a Vintage Fisher Price #2020 Post Office play set! This wonderful toy was manufactured between 1990 to 1992 and afforded children hours of imaginative fun. The set included a realistic mail box with a letter slot, a package compartment, 2 post office boxes with clicking keys and much more. Other contents consisted of a working stamp dispenser with 8 reusable stamps, wipeable stationary and crayon, letters, envelopes, post cards, a package, and a mail tote. Children could pretend to write and send letters, thereby enhancing their emergent literacy and pre-writing skills.  They could also "sort and deliver the mail" like a real mail person. This would make a TREMENDOUS gift for a Kindergarten or First Grade classroom mailbox. Children love sending and receiving mail. What a way to foster more child interactions with print in a meaningful context!  This particular offering is 99% complete; the only items missing are the erasable crayon and wipe-away cloth.

Components of this set include:

1 RARE Post Office Box with a dial combination lock, slot for mailing post cards and letters, pull down yellow door to mail packages, and two lockable Post Office boxes; the Post Office conveniently stores all of the contents inside and provides a work area for the "Postal Workers;" noted aberrations include some scratches/creasing on the front Post Office litho, multiple bubbles on the interior clock litho, and one scrape/scuff on the upper left hand margin of the back part of the mailbox; all in all, I would categorize this base as being VG+-VG++;

2 white hard plastic envelopes with hinged lids to insert a "letter" inside (NEAR MINT);

2 white hard plastic wipe-off "letters" (NEAR MINT);

1 red mail tote with a hinged yellow handle; the tote has divided sections for letters, stamps etc. (NEAR MINT);

1 yellow plastic package (box) that is hinged; it has an area in the upper right hand corner where a stamp may be applied and removed (NEAR MINT);

1 plastic postcard with a litho depicting a circus and a clown (MINT);

1 plastic postcard with a litho showing two children playing on the beach (MINT);

1 working red stamp dispenser (this is so cool!); the child presses down the lever and the stamp ejects from the preloaded dispenser (EXC--NOTE: stamp dispenser tends to eject one stamp at a time; you then need to reposition the stamps to eject another one; I'm going to monkey around with this to see if I can improve its consistency);

1 yellow tray with hook on each end; the tray fits inside the upper right hand side of the mail box's interior (NEAR MINT);

8 small plastic stamps with a different picture and price imprinted on each of them; these include: a blue, .05 Space Shuttle; a blue, .45 Saturn; a green, .03 Train; a green, .12 George Washington; an orange, .75 Lion; and orange $1.00 Airplane (must be going to Canada); a red, .10 Dinosaur; and a red, .30 French Horn. Kids love to "purchase" their stamps and apply them on the postcards, envelopes, and package (all in MINT condition).

This is an AWESOME play set---one chock full of educational applications as well as open-ended fun! This set is EXTREMELY RARE and VHTF with most of its original accessories. Don't let this set pass you by!

I will be sending this set to its new owner securely wrapped in bubble wrap and tucked inside another protective box. The set weighs 4 lbs., 1 oz. and my location is Lafayette, IN (47905).

I'm finding that Fed Ex Home Delivery is running about 33% cheaper than the USPS or UPS Ground for deliveries in the continental U.S. This is especially true for packages weighing in excess of 5 lbs., traveling longer distances, or requiring an oversized box. To ship Fed Ex Home Delivery, I must have a residential address, not a P.O. box, and a contact phone number (e.g. home, cell, or work place). Otherwise, Fed Ex will not accept the package for shipping.

I primarily utilize Fed Ex Home Delivery for items exceeding 5 lbs. in weight, measuring greater than 12 inches in any dimension, or traveling longer distances. I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.

In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.
Since Bonanza's shipping calculator does NOT offer Fed Ex Home Delivery as a shipping option, PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL I HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO MANUALLY CHECK THESE RATES AND INSERT THEM INTO YOUR INVOICE. Otherwise, the shipping calculator may overcharge you.

Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.

I’m more than willing to combine multiple purchases into one box whenever it is safe to do so to decrease your shipping costs. Once again, PLEASE wait to check out until I can combine your purchases on ONE INVOICE and can calculate their combined shipping rate via Fed Ex.
