I purchased these beautiful birds at an estate sale in Indiana many years ago! They were in a box that states "Birds of the World". End of box has "Description: Robin, Color: Mauve, 1 Dozen". There were a number of bird ornaments at this sale and I would surmise that the prior owner just put this dozen inside this box (the other birds didn't have boxes and I will try to list more of these gorgeous birds on etsy as time allows).
These birds have a lot of detail. They have cotton bodies over what feels like styrofoam (they have substance, not like complete cotton body birds). Their beaks are white cardboard, individually cut and folded to actually resemble/look like beaks. The tails are made of real feathers. Legs and feet are hard plastic and there are 2 wires by the legs so they can be attached to flowers, Christmas tree branches, the uses are endless. The tails measure approximately 4 1/2" x 3 3/4", the bird bodies are approximately 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" (I say approximately because I didn't measure every one).
The colors are so pretty! There are 5 blue color birds with blue feathers, 5 mauve color ones with pink feathers, and 2 burgundy color ones with peach color feathers.
The birds are in super condition -- the only "flaw" I could see is some aging/discoloration of the glue used to glue the feathers together and to the bird body -- that's it!
Wouldn’t these be pretty “perched” in a Christmas tree, on a large plant, or tucked into a floral arrangement?
Please note: as with all my listings, the quoted shipping is a best guess estimate. I refund all overages above $2.00 whether it is a single item purchase or multiple items in a single transaction.
