This is a beautiful vintage clear faceted crystal ball or orb pendant dangling from a sturdy goldtone chain link necklace. The stunning large pendant is topped with a brass or gold tone highly textured end cap that reminds me of the top of an acorn. If you view the ball from the bottom it reflects the gold cap throughout the pendant like a prism. The chain hangs down 18 inches. The chain does not open, but if it did it would measure approximately 36 inches in length if it were stretched out. It reminds me of the Flapper style necklace (see picture on form). The crystal pendant is close to 1 ½ inches long and 1 ¼ inches wide. The necklace weighs 2.2 ounces on my postage scale. Although it is not signed that I can see, it is definitely of high quality. This is most likely from the 1960s to 1970s.
It is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs, there are no chips or cracks. There is an extremely tiny little surface scratch that can only be seen under high magnification, on one of the facets. Although you would never know it is there I wanted to mention it anyway. The chain has the typical patina you would find on a vintage gold tone chain with a mixture of shades of gold and silver.
This necklace makes an eye catching statement piece that is sure to get many compliments. It is versatile and will work with any outfit. It reflects all the colors that are near it. It will be a perfect addition to your collection of vintage jewelry.
