Grosset & Dunlap was essentially a reprint publisher, but it did put out a good number of original young people's series. It also published some photoplay first editions relating to popular movies that were not based on novels. THE JAZZ SINGER was the first transition feature film between the silent era and the talkies -- a silent movie with several sound sequences. This photoplay edition, based on a play, contains eight "scenes from the photoplay", which was produced by Warner Brothers. This copy has a short tear at the spine top and some other spine end wear; modestly bumped corners with some wear on the tips; slight back cover spotting; moderately toned pages. No dust jacket. Otherwise, a very decent copy -- clean and with no writing, marks or creasing on pages.
