From St. Louis, Missouri, to the Pacific Ocean, Lewis and Clark explored the Louisiana Territory with the Corps of Discovery. The Corps of Discovery traveled about 8,000 miles, mapping the rivers and lands as they went. They met and became friends with many American-Indian tribes and saw wildlife that was new to them.
