This is one of the earlier works of the dean of American historians and the father of the two-time Pulitzer-winning historian of the same name. (This is actually the second volume written under this title; Vol. I was by another author.) 576 pages, with many maps and charts, some in color. Slightly faded spine, mildly bumped cover corners; any other exterior wear is minor. Binding is not real tight , with webbing slightly visible in a few places, but book is still secure. Bookplate and faint erasures on ffep. No dust jacket. A pretty nice copy of this significant historial work.
