Just over 8 1/4" itself and of a design to work well with any variety of size base or top. Offering one part only, it came to me like this, no base or socket or otherwise included but chances are you might have wanted to replace them anyway so why pay for what you don't need. And you can custom tailor it to your own decor or customers' preferences. I am really hard pressed to figure the age on this one, it looks more pre-war than post-war to me but it could be anywhere from 1920's to 1950's.
Looks nice without physical damage; the gilded wings and floral artwork look unworn. It was certainly in a smoking home as they all were smoking homes then. I have not cleaned this at all. I don't expect it would be any great chore and if you do lamp restoration you are probably happier I haven't touched it.
Photos were taken on a scanner which has disadvantages and as general photos they aren't awesome, anything set back from the glass comes out dark. But you can't beat the detail, at least not with anything else I have working at the moment. This is a very good quality lamp part, you might have found it in working class homes but it would be one of their nicer possessions, at least for everyday housewares and furnishings. The flowers appear to be stenciled. Top hole 9/16".
Parts to complete this won't be costly and you can end up with a really nice piece.
