Sing Street is a 2016 musical comedy-drama film written, produced, and directed by JOHN CARNEY that revolves around a boy growing up in Dublin during the 1980s, escapes his strained family life by starting a band to impress the mysterious girl he likes.

The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival January 24, 2015, released in Ireland March 17 and in the United States April 15. It will be released in the United Kingdom on May 20.
