It is to be noted that Mia Farrow's character was blind; far from limiting her acting it gave her the setting for a range of expressions that would not be appropriate for sighted characters. This is one of a series of scenes in which she is unaware of the presence of a dead body, which is pretty creepy. I have not seen the film myself so I don't know how good it is, but it surely makes for some great stills.
