This adorable and gorgeous figural Dragon brooch or pin is composed of gold tone textured metal. It has a lovely inset faux art glass stone for its neck, which has a carved look to it. The glass has a curved wave or ribbed like ridge pattern with speckled dots in the green. The body of the dragon has tremendous detail; the scales have a feathery look to them and even the feet are detailed. It has a sparkling clear faceted Rhinestone eye. It measures approximately 2 ΒΌ inches long and 1 inch tall. This is most likely from the 1960s. It is designer quality with wonderful workmanship and although not signed, this pin (in green and other colors) can be seen on the Internet with the Marvella signature. It was not uncommon for designers to create unsigned copies of their designs.
It is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The gold tone finish has a nice shiny look that is quite reflective. The dark areas in the photos are not flaws, but reflections. There are some tiny little black dots on the finish inside the back of the brooch, but you don't really see them without magnification. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe.
This is a quality piece to add to your collection of vintage figural jewelry. You are sure to get many compliments when wearing this unusual and stunning brooch.
