Recorded in 1995, at six shows in Portland, Oregon and Oakland, California, Raitt digs deep into her catalog for clever interpretations of blues, soul and even classic new wave songs that have shaped her musical vocabulary. Constantly paying homage to her musical roots, Raitt brings on such idols as Charles and Ruth Brown, as well as contemporary VH-1 co-horts like Bruce Hornsby, Bryan Adams and Jackson Browne, to add to the fireworks. And even though the cameos of these formidable talents add up to some delightful thrills, Raitt's pure singing, biting slide guitar and crack back-up band are the main reasons why she passes this road test with flying colors.
