Available in this listing is another estate sale purchase of this vintage gold-tone Maltese Cross style Pin/Brooch with (4) Ruby colored Glass Cabochons and faceted acrylic or glass gemstone center.  Beautiful bright heavy gold-tone rope twisted petals accented with clean rhinestones curved around the red oval cabochons and tiny faux seed pearls set inside the cross section. Truly a wonderful vintage brooch very similar in style to the ART brooches from the past of which this may be an unsigned piece (see condition for manufacturer mark info.) Made in the USA.

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with no loss of pearls, gemstones and rhinestones. There is a manufacturer’s mark, but only showing a small box on the back above the pin on the right side of the petal of which the maker's mark name did not imprint during manufacturing of the metal, but this is very similar in style to ART© designs, but I can't say for sure. It measures approximately: 2-1/2” wide by 2” tall and has a straight pin back with a circular closure.

HISTORY: Offering high quality jewelry with an emphasis on Medieval and Renaissance, Victorian and Art Deco styles. Basically, decorations were carried out in flower, fruit and leafy motifs, and very rarely – figures of animals and reptiles. Arthur Pepper was in business from the late 1940's making jewelry signed Mode Art, and later, ART(c). The heyday of this company came during the 1950's - 1960's when they produced dozens of interpretations of ethnic Asian figural fashion jewelry, Egyptian revival large metal pectorals, Maltese crosses, and an entire line of jewelry with delightful small enameled flowers.  Most collectible besides the Christmas tree pins are the Maltese Crosses and the enameled daisy jewels; but the hardest to find pieces are decadent rhinestone sets that are very similar to Florenza jewelry. This fashion jewelry is now all vintage. Prices of jewelry signed ART(c) will only continue to rise. Vintage ART jewelry may be signed “ART” in all capital letters. On pieces made after 1955, “ART” is followed by the copyright symbol. Many pieces were signed “ModeArt” or “Mode-Art.”

Shipping includes the price of padded envelope, tape. label, ink and processing.

FINE PRINT: As with all vintage/antique items there may be normal wear, dings, dents, scratches and other unique irregularities such as bumps, bubbles, glaze pops and glazing slips, color variations, ink/paint spots under the glaze, mold lines, etc., within or on each piece from the manufacturing process that do not take away from the value or function, but add to the history and character of the item. If there is any major/minor damages it will be stated above. All inquiries welcomed. Please see my seller’s page for my Seller's Policy's and Guidelines.
