I have here a set of four vintage lustrous 1960's “Caribcraft” hand crafted solid Mahogany Bowls that were made in Haiti, hand carved, crafted and polished by native craftsmen in Haiti.
These are absolutely gorgeous salad bowls that where previously owned, but I don’t believe ever used. The finish is nice and shiny almost new showing rich dark reddish brown mahogany color. Only one bowl shows a little fading on the finish on the inside and it may be from age oxidation. They look to have been made from one solid piece of wood and the grain pattern is fabulous. Not like the modern bowls you see today that are pieced and glued together.
I will also be listing another set of our bowls of this same style. This is a great item for a casual Caribbean style place setting or medieval feasting gear.
CONDITION: Excellent - these bowls measure approximately 5-3/4” inches wide by 1-1/2” inches tall. I only had one surviving label from the bottom of one bowl that came off, but there is a small carved maker's mark imprinted on the bowls that says "Hand Made in Haiti".
