"The name Nakia means "dedicated to God." This figurine is based on the scripture reference of Matthew 10:42 -A cup given in His name. Nakia wakes very early every morning as her tummy rumbles with an emptiness that signals a need for food.  She quickly grabs her little cup that is used for both water and food and heads to the wonderful spot where the lady with the nice smile will fill it.  Nakia does not know or understand how food or water comes to her town, she only knows that it makes her tummy feel better...and that makes her heart feel happier."
