SoVintageous is offering this gorgeous vintage brooch in excellent condition.  Framed within a handmade bezel of Continental Silver (83.5% pure silver) with a twisted rope design border is a beautiful hand-painted Blue Delft porcelain medallion.  An excellent vintage piece, the glazing is perfectly intact and the old style c-clasp and pin are both in great condition.  

Delft jewelry is a marvelous blend of Schoonhoven silver and blue Delft pottery inserts from the Gouda region.  The signature on the medallion indicates that it was handmade/painted sometime during the mid to late 1950's at 'Kunstatelier Porceletti' (the Porceletti Art Studio), founded by Dick Olthuysen in Gouda around 1952.  Olthuysen was considered to be one of the last of the "Specialists", i.e. specialist manufacturers of Delft stones, along with Verwoerd and Van Katwijk.

The signature on the old-style C-clasp is that of G.J. Van Den Bergh Jr. (GB5) and the Dutch sword hallmark with 835 (83.5% pure silver) stamped on the blade.

As it is preferable to most vintage/antique jewelry collectors that older pieces maintain their patina I don't polish vintage/antique pieces.  However, if you prefer to have the brooch polished, please let me know and I will shine it up before I mail it to you.
