This book is inclusive and ecumenical across Christian churches world-wide, although heavily focused on European history.  This history is written from the point of view of the average person.  Not only names, dates, relationships to the surrounding culture, institutional growth, and doctrine, but mission outreach, spirituality, persecution, role of women in the life and work of the church, and so forth.

E. Glenn Hinson had served as a pastor for more than one Baptist church before teaching as a Professor of Church History for the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (1962-1993).   He had published 17 books on the church by 1995.  

Hardcover has laminated paper boards but no jacket.  This copy has been studied, but not abused, by previous owner.  Extensive underlining with notes in margins does not affect legibility.  Ink stamp of witch’s hand used to denote ownership on ffep.  Interior is tight and clean.
