Ricou Browning (1930-2023) was the last surviving cast member from the roster of classic Universal Monsters. As the Creature, he performed the underwater sequences in all three Gill-man films; the iconic Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) as well its two sequels; Revenge of the Creature (1955) and The Creature Walks Among Us (1956). This caricature sketch of the Gill-man is hand-drawn and hand-signed by Browning and is certified authentic by CGC as part of their special Signature Series. With CGC’s Signature Series, a certified witness actually observes the signing/sketching and then immediately takes possession of the collectible so there is no chance for the real autograph/sketch being replaced or substituted. The sketch is drawn on board measuring approximately 6 3/4 by 10 1/2 inches.
About Ricou Browning:
An American stunt performer, filmmaker and actor, Florida native Ricou Browning was a skilled swimmer, renowned for his innovative underwater stunt work, most notably in the 1954 film Creature from the Black Lagoon (in which he portrayed the titular Gill-man during the film's underwater scenes) and in the 1965 James Bond film Thunderball (as the underwater sequences director). He also co-created the popular Flipper media franchise. Other film work includes the James Bond film Never Say Never Again, Around the World Under the Sea, Island of the Lost, Hello Down There, and Caddyshack.
