This is a rare and well-preserved 6.5-inch Cylindroteuthis puzosiana belemnite fossil from the Oxford Clay Formation, Oxfordian stage of the Jurassic period, discovered in Peterborough, United Kingdom. Belemnites were an extinct group of marine cephalopods closely related to modern squid and cuttlefish. Unlike ammonites, their internal shell structure, known as the guard, fossilised over millions of years, providing valuable insights into Jurassic marine ecosystems.

This specimen is an excellent example of Cylindroteuthis puzosiana, featuring its characteristic elongated, bullet-shaped guard with fine preservation. Belemnite fossils like this are significant for their role in understanding the evolution of cephalopods and their adaptation to prehistoric seas.
