Product description:
Vitamin K belongs to the group of fat-soluble vitamins. It occurs in 2 different forms: Plants, especially green leafy vegetables, produce what is known as vitamin K1 (phylloquinone), which can be absorbed through food and is partially converted into vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7), on the other hand, is produced by the bacteria in our intestinal flora.
This vitamin has the following functions:
Vitamin K is short for "coagulation vitamin", because vitamin K is involved in converting blood clotting factors into their active form. A vitamin K deficiency therefore leads to an increased risk of bleeding.
Bone health:
The positive effect of vitamin K on maintaining normal bones has also been confirmed. Vitamin K also inhibits osteoclast activity, which promotes bone breakdown.
A daily intake of vitamin K2 is a useful supplement to the diet if you have an increased tendency to bleed due to a vitamin K deficiency, if you have osteoporosis, or if you want to maintain healthy bone density.
